Originally it was called <strong>&#8216;Tuakau Road&#8217;<\/strong>.  The station was rebuilt in 1910, and closed to passengers on 14 March 1983. I understand that the stock used to be driven down to\/from the station yards &amp; the sale yards via St Stephens Avenue. They are memorialised here on their horses alongside the new poutu&#8217;s that stand as sentinels at the entry into the township of Tuakau.
