Once you’ve met Vern Reeve, you won’t easily forget him, always with a smile and upbeat manner, Vern is the consummate professional who adheres to the old-fashioned virtues of good manners, good-will and sincerity.
A long time Tuakau resident, Vern’s formative years were spent in and around Mangere East. At school he loved the arts but his abiding passion was and still is, motorsport.
With an engineer-father, the mechanical intricacies of race-car engines were undoubtedly in his DNA, but Vern’s career has largely been in sales, marketing and the special skill of connecting and having rapport with people.
His career spans a number of decades, (Vern might light-heartedly assert “too many”) in marketing and sales roles with engineering firms, large corporates, vehicle manufacturers, and the film, music and entertainment industries.
Vern know the district like the proverbial back of his hand and although he markets and sells all types of property in and around Tuakau where he lives, he also reaches out into the Northern Waikato region that covers Pokeno, Mercer, Pukekawa, Hampton Downs and the Te Kauwhata area.
Some 14 years down the track from the commencement of his real estate career with Harcourts, Vern is now a senior member of the management team of Southern Corridor Realty Group who own 5 Ray White offices – opening first the Tuakau office with Ted Ingram and then moving to the Pukekohe office.
As a well-known identity in Tuakau, Vern’s relaxed approachable style and spirited endorsement of his home town is irresistible. His extensive database of clients and friends wouldn’t dream of giving anyone other than Vern a call to help them buy and sell a home or block of land, many having done so multiple times.
He has been, and still is, enormously involved with the community in all sorts of ways – currently a Ward Councillor with the Waikato District Council, and with nearly 12 years in local governance and past Chairperson of the Tuakau District Development Association, Trustee of the Tuakau Emergency Services and a member of Tuakau Rotary.
Vern has two adult children living overseas who share his passion for cars and motorsport, while Vern enjoys his life with wife and soul-mate Vicky on their ½ acre block in Tuakau and still follows motorsport (as a spectator rather than a participant these days). When time permits he and Vicky head off on road-trips in the campervan and catch up with the many mates they have, the length and breadth of New Zealand.
Consider giving Vern a call when you are thinking about real estate, whether buying or selling, Vern is always up for a chat about that and considering the depth of his knowledge of the Franklin and Waikato markets you couldn’t be in better hands.
